Sky Limo’s Martha’s Vineyard

Martha’s Vineyard is an island off the south of Cape Cod in New England and is a very popular summer destination. It’s made up of six beautiful towns including Tisbury, Edgartown, Oak Bluffs, West Tisbury Chilmark and Aquinnah. Martha’s Vineyard has so much to offer its tourists and residents from unspoiled beaches, scenic bike rides to arts, entertainment and of course, shopping. To get there in style, let Sky Limo Air Charter whisk you off on a private jet. You’ll enjoy a comfortable flight with great food on board and lot of space to unwind. Sky Limo Air Charter has put a quick list of things you can see and do in Martha’s Vineyard so you can be ready to explore once you land.

Beaches: There are beaches in all of the towns that make up Martha’s Vineyard. They vary from shallow, clear water stretches on the northern and eastern sides of the island to rumbling surf on the south side. Some beaches are open to the public and some are reserved just for the residents. There’s Menemsha Public beach that has clear, bright water and that’s open to all. There’s Fuller Street Beach in Edgartown that’s open to the public. There’s Joseph Sylvia State Beach that encompasses two miles of clear, mild beach between Oak Bluffs and Edgartown. And many, many more.

Shopping: If you like to shop, you’ve come to the right place. Martha’s Vineyard has tons of exclusive stores and boutiques filled with one-of-a-kind antiques, gifts, souvenirs and designer duds. Plus, there’s even more than 50 art galleries boasting traditional art as well as contemporary with everything from hand-blown glass to metalwork, sculptures and paintings. It’s a real feast for the eyes. What you won’t find here is a typical mall or too many chain stores, everything is authentic and quaint.

Entertainment: On the island, you’ll find lots of entertainment options from theatre to dance and movies festivals, to workshops and great restaurants. The Featherstone Center for the Arts is a great nonprofit organization that offers art classes, concerts, gallery shows and more. The MV Chamber Music Society has a 12- concert summer series as well as music enrichment programs. The Martha’s Vineyard Film Festival is now in its 7th year and often has the filmmakers on hand to discuss the picture afterwards.

Fishing: You can do some great fishing in Martha’s Vineyard. With a bit of luck you can catch bluefish, striped bass, bonito, false albacore and Spanish mackerel from right there on the beach. And if you go out on a boat, you’ll be able to catch white marlin, yellowfin tuna, bluefins and even shark. There’s even a fishing tournament, the Martha’s Vineyard Striped Bass and Bluefish Derby, every year from mid-Sept to mid-October that attracts about 900 islanders to join visitors. In 2009, the tournament celebrates its 64thyear.
